The Practice Nurses are involved in many activities in the surgery, including advice about travel and giving vaccinations, blood sampling and ear syringing. Sister Bennet has a special interest in the management of diabetes and Sister Lynch has a special interest in the management of asthma. The nurses are increasingly involved in chronic disease management.
Appointments can be made directly, or if appropriate, after consultation with your doctor. They work from the treatment room in the surgery.
Please note that with changing roles, most of your routinue blood samples, blood pressure readings and height and weight recordings will now be taken by our trained phlebotomists, Linda Cater and Rhonda Miller. It is usually more appropriate, if you require blood samples taken, to make an appointment with one of our phlebotomists instead of the practice nurses. |
