PLEASE NOTE DUE TO COVID: The normal appointment system has been amended.
We are currently providing on the day telephone consultations only. We have therefore suspended all online appointment booking. Please contact us over the phone on 0141 956 1339 and do not attend the surgery to make appointments.
The phone lines open at 8:30am.
THE APPOINTMENTS SYSTEM
We have simplified the type of appointments that you can pre book into 3 categories:
1. Bookable in advance up to 4 weeks
These appointments are 10 minute slots and can be booked up to 4 weeks in advance. You can request your preferred doctor and there are a variety of time slots over the week ranging from 7am to 6:30pm on set days.
2. Book for the next working day
There will be a number of appointments released at 8.30am everyday for the following morning and afternoon (Note the days we are open at 7:00am you cannot book 24 hour appointments until 8:30). You can request your preferred doctor. These are not emergencies.
3. Emergency on the day
Medical emergency appointments will be available on the day in the morning and the afternoon. We cannot book an emergency appointment before 8:30am. We advise to call at 8:30am for these appointments. You cannot request your preferred doctor and will be asked by a member of reception for brief symptoms.
Emergency Clinic
In addition to prebookable appointments and on the day emergency appointments, we will continue to run the daily Emergency Clinic from 11.00am. (note check in begins no earlier than 10:55am and no later than11.30am)This service offers a 5 minute slot with the first available doctor. The doctor will only be able to deal with 1 acute emergency medical issue. We ask that you phone the surgery in the morning if you wish to attend. There are 2 reasons for this: 1) we may be able to offer an appointment or cancellation that day, and 2) it gives us an idea of how many patients will be attending.
Please note patients will be prioritised on medical needs as such you may have a lengthy wait. You will be asked by a receptionist when check in for some brief symptoms. This is to assist the doctors as patients deemed more unwell may be seen as a priority.
Test Results/General Enquiries
We are also requesting that patients looking for test results or general enquiries call the surgery in the afternoon (after 2:00pm). This allows us to deal with appointment booking, housecall requests and emergencies more efficiently from 8.30am.
House Calls - line 0141 956 4334 (HOUSECALL REQUESTS ONLY)
If you require a house call please contact the surgery as early in the day as possible to allow the doctor to prioritise the calls. Any request for a housecall will be triaged by a doctor and are generally only for those who are housebound of for whom, in the doctor’s opinion, it would be medically inadvisable to attend the surgery. Although we are happy to make housecalls we would ask you to consider that the average housecall takes as long as three consultations in the surgery. Please note that it is not possible to request a specific doctor.
In the event of an emergency, or if you are in any doubt, please call 999.
